• DoE awards contracts to exchange 53.3mbbl oil from SPR (offshore-technology.com) — Freeport-area readers should know that the nearby Bryan Mound Strategic Petroleum Reserve site in Brazoria County is part of a new federal move to exchange 53.3 million barrels of crude oil. The Department of Energy says deliveries from Bryan Mound and other Gulf Coast sites will begin immediately to support global oil market stability while keeping the reserve strong.
