The Ismaili Center

ROCO continues its 22nd season with Fellow Travelers, exploring companionship and shared humanity through music. Guest conductor Rei Hotoda leads the 40-piece chamber orchestra in its debut at Houston's stunning Ismaili Center with back-to-back performances on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2:00 p.m.
The concert features a new world premiere from Season 22 Composer-In-Residence Jessica Meyer that explores how melody, harmony, and sound interact with both external physical environments and internal human experience, along with Marcus Karl Maroney's Concerto for Chamber Orchestra, a 2016 ROCO Commission. Together with the spiritual inflection of Arvo Pärt's Fratres and the duality of Beethoven's Symphony No. 2, the program invites audiences on a shared journey of discovery.

Curated by ROCO violinist Eva Burmeister, this ROCO Connections concert transforms the historic Julia Ideson Library into a gathering place for music, poetry, and conversation.
Joined by Tyler Duncan, baritone, and Erika Switzer, piano, Eva presents an evening that pairs expressive chamber works with the warmth of the human voice, exploring themes of memory, reflection, and belonging. Surrounded by one of Houston’s architectural treasures, audiences will experience music at its most personal, where every phrase feels like a conversation shared among friends.View Tickets & More Info
