• Grants expand autogas automotive tech training (zephr.com) — Georgetown’s Future Ready Complex will add new propane autogas training to its automotive curriculum this fall, joining eight other schools nationwide. The grant-funded program will give local students hands-on experience with propane-powered vehicles and connect them to industry advisors, potentially opening doors to careers in fleet service, transportation, and the propane sector.
• Giant hail up to 11.4 cm (4.5 inches) and damaging winds hit Texas (watchers.news) — Recent severe storms brought a 64 mph wind gust to Georgetown Municipal Airport as part of a broader outbreak of giant hail and damaging winds across Texas. While the largest hail fell west of Waco and in West Texas, Central Texas communities including Austin and Georgetown saw powerful gusts and downed trees nearby. The report underscores how close the most dangerous weather came to our area.
