• St. Paul's Episcopal Church to Celebrate 130 Years in Greenville With Free Community Festival (greenvillechronicle.com) — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville is inviting the whole community to a free 130th-anniversary festival on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8320 Jack Finney Blvd. Expect live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, and a look back at the church’s dramatic history, including the 1969 fire and the rescue of its marble baptismal font.
   

• Porch Book Sale in Greenville Oct. 3 (ntxe-news.com) — Greenville residents can browse thousands of bargain and rare books at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum’s porch book sale on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. With most titles priced between $1 and $5, the free-to-enter sale features Westerns, Texas and military history, and home-style cookbooks gathered from across Hunt County.
   

• TxDOT, NE Texas Railway provide transportation updates at Chamber Lunch & Learn (frontporchnewstexas.com) — Major transportation changes are headed toward the Greenville area, with TxDOT planning I-30 widening and new overpasses west of town, plus additional expansion work targeted to start locally in 2029. At the same time, NE Texas Railway is pursuing a $48 million rebuild of the Greenville-to-Winfield rail corridor, aiming to boost freight capacity and future job growth.
