Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office adding AEDs to patrol units to respond to cardiac arrests (valleycentral.com) — From Harlingen, officials report that the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is equipping 116 patrol units with automated external defibrillators to respond faster to cardiac arrests and crashes. Deputies will receive medical training so they can stabilize patients until EMS arrives, potentially improving survival chances across nearby communities.
