AIDS Foundation Houston Announces Virtual World Aids Day 2020
The virtual event will include remarks from Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, surprise performances, award presentations and more.

AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH) will host their annual World AIDS Day event as a virtual experience on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. The annual fundraiser, emceed this year by Houston Public Media’s Ernie Manouse, will support AFH in its mission to end the HIV epidemic in Houston and to provide education, testing, housing and supportive services to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Participants will hear from speakers including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Judge Lina Hidalgo, former Houston Mayor Annise Parker, fashion designer Mondo Guerra, Dr. Bruce Richmond and more. Event programming will also feature testimonials from AFH board members and clients, performances from America's Got Talent semi-finalist Christina Wells and iconic Houston drag superstar Dessie Love-Blake, and the presentation of the 2020 Shelby Hodge Vision Award by the award’s namesake, Shelby Hodge.

In anticipation of World AIDS Day, AFH will feature announcements from celebrities such as Shangela, Lance Bass, Todrick Hall, Anthony Rapp and more on worldaidsdayhouston.org and the AIDS Foundation Houston social media channels.
