Police: Woman Was Ambushed, Murdered Inside Her Home
Police: Blood was in every room of the home, indicating she fought violently with her attacker.

HOUSTON, TX -- Police are investigating the murder of a woman who they believe was ambushed and violently attacked by someone she knew.
Police were called to the 6600 block of Sherwood on Sunday night after family members who were concerned after not hearing from the Zuleika Hernandez, 23, for several days, found her body in a bathroom inside the home.
When family members arrived, they found the backdoor open and the driveway gate locked, where her husband's Ford F-350 pickup truck was normally parked.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
Witnesses reported seeing Herenandez come home in a black SUV, and was seen trying to get her dogs back to her yard.

Acording to a KPRC report, Police believe the person who killed her was already inside the home waiting, and attacked as soon as she came through the door.
Investigators told KHOU that they found blood in every room in the house, indicating that Hernandez fought for her life with her attacker.

Police did not find a weapon and did not say how the woman was killed.
Police said the woman and her husband had a violent past, but he is not a suspect in the case because he is in jail on an unrelated charge, according to a KPRC report.
Police believe the suspect killed the woman Friday, and took her husband's Ford F-350 pickup.
Police are searching for a white F-350 with license plate number CYP-9260 and an Antonio Ayala Roofing decal on the tailgate, with damage to the front of the vehicle.
The pickup also has a decal of the El Salvadoran flag on the back windshield.
