Flames Force Six To Jump From 2nd Floor Apartment
Residents have been without electricity since Saturday, and many were using candles for light: Investigators.

HOUSTON, TX — At least two people were hurt when they, along with four others were forced to jump from a second story balcony after their apartment erupted in flames early Monday.
The fire was reported at about 4 a.m., at the Copper Tree Village Apartments near Gulf Bank Road and Damascus Drive.

Residents in the apartment said they were awakened and realized their apartment was on fire, and tried to escape through the front door, but it was blocked by flames, forcing them to find another way out.
Witnesses told firefighters that the building has been without power since Saturday and they had been using candles for light, KTRK reported.

Officials with CenterPoint Energy and the apartment complex have been working to get power restored to the complex.
