Four Houston Harmony Public Schools Students Selected for 10-Year National Math Stars Program

HOUSTON — Four Houston-area elementary students from Harmony Public Schools have earned spots in the prestigious National Math Stars program, unlocking a decade of specialized academic support designed to propel them into high-level STEM careers.

The program identifies second- and third-grade students nationwide who demonstrate top 0.1% mathematical talent. Selected scholars receive continuous mentoring, coursework, and resources through their high school graduation.

The four Houston-area Harmony students named to the 2026 National Math Stars cohort are:

• Pathfinder Stars Track:
  • Isha K., Harmony Science Academy – Bridgeland
  • Sreya S., Harmony School of Excellence – Houston
• Voyager Stars Track:
  • Darasimi F., Harmony Science Academy – City Place
  • Hoorain S., Harmony Science Academy – Sugar Land

Both the Pathfinder and Voyager tracks match students with advanced, high-level coursework tailored to their learning speed. Students on the Voyager track also receive comprehensive financial support valued at more than $100,000 per student over 10 years. That funding covers specialized math mentorship, STEM supplies, advanced coursework, and summer enrichment opportunities.

Local educators credit early classroom support for setting the students up for national recognition.

"Harmony teachers identified these scholars' potential early and built their foundational love for STEM," said Ramazan Coskuner, Area Superintendent for Harmony Public Schools Houston South and West Districts. "Now, National Math Stars steps in alongside Harmony to provide the long-term, specialized resources needed to take their talent to the highest levels."

The four students join a network of nearly 1,000 high-ability peers across 10 states, connecting them with a nationwide community of young scholars focused on STEM research and discovery.

Harmony Public Schools, a tuition-free public charter school system with campuses across Texas, is currently accepting enrollment applications for students and employment applications for staff.
