Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land Earns Top State Honor as 2026 Lone Star Ribbon School

SUGAR LAND, Texas — Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land has earned designation as a 2026 Lone Star Ribbon School, placing it among an elite group of 25 public schools recognized statewide by Gov. Greg Abbott for high academic achievement and student growth.

The state honor recognizes top-performing public school campuses that maintain an overall "A" rating under the Texas accountability system while demonstrating consistent academic progress across diverse student populations. The Sugar Land footprint includes both Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land Elementary and Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land Middle.

This marks the second year of the state recognition program, which Abbott established in 2025 to highlight public schools meeting top academic standards. It is also the second consecutive year a campus within the Harmony Public Schools network has earned the distinction; three Harmony campuses received the honor during the program’s inaugural year.

Dr. Jamie White, principal of Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land Middle, credited the campus culture and community collaboration for the achievement.

"When you see our students working hard and our teachers going above and beyond day in and day out, you know something special is happening here," White said. "Being named a Lone Star Ribbon School is official proof of what we see on our campus every day. I am deeply grateful to our staff, our students, and our families for making our school such an incredible place to learn."

Harmony Public Schools operates as a tuition-free public charter network integrating science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education alongside character development, project-based learning, and college preparatory coursework. Systemwide, Harmony reports a 98% high school graduation rate and a 100% college acceptance rate among graduating seniors.

Statewide, the 25 campuses recognized this year represent a mix of traditional public school districts and public charter networks.
