HFD, Dynamo, Dash Team Up For Operation Stocking Stuffer

The Houston Fire Department is teaming up with Houston's soccer teams to provide toys for Houston area children this holiday season.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Fire Department is teaming up with Houston Dynamo FC and the Houston Dash for its annual Operation Stocking Stuffer holiday toy drive Tuesday.

Members of the Houston professional soccer teams will assist firefighters on a shopping spree for toys to donate to children. The event will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Target located at 4323 San Felipe St.

The soccer players also will present a check for the nonprofit event to HFD and will later help with the sorting of the toys on Dec. 9. All families who receive toys through the drive during the Dec. 18 giveaway also will receive ticket vouchers to Dynamo FC and Dash games.

Volunteers can help with sorting from Dec. 10-16 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The giveaway, which will be conducted in a drive-thru format, will take place at 9 a.m. until toys are gone.

Houstonians also can pitch in from their homes as the Houston Fire Department is receiving online toy orders from Amazon. HFD recommends using its approved toy list on Amazon for donations to Operation Stocking Stuffer. Online purchases must be received by Dec. 14 at the following address:

In-person drop-offs must be made by appointment only.

The annual drive collects toys for over 20,000 children each year to help Houston families during the holidays.
