The Houston Area Crime Round Up: Solved And Unsolved Mysteries
The crime round up includes the case closed on a string of car burlgaries, finding a missing baby, and the search for 2 murder suspects
The arrest of several car burglary suspects, the recent kidnapping and recovery of a baby girl, and the search for the men involved in a fatal shooting are among the crimes listed this week in the local crime round-up.
Case Closed On Car Burglaries
In the days leading up to Christmas, investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constableโs Office arrested three men who allegedly burglarized more than 100 vehicles in various neighborhoods in Spring area.

Investigators had spent three months looking for clues and caught a break when they received video surveillance from a Dec. 22 car burglary reported in the 6800 block of Tammany Manor Ln.
Investigators examined the video and quickly identified the burglary suspect as Dain Fletcher.
Constable went to his home to arrest him and found narcotics, guns and other property taken in area vehicle burglaries.

During police interviews with Fletcher, he implicated several other suspects involved in the car burglaries, who were later identified as Dominque Demond Lockett and DeโAries Jahmar Smith.
Investigators recovered stolen property and narcotics from both Lockett and Smith when they were arrested.
โThe arrest of these three suspects has led to the clearance of over 150 car burglaries throughout Northwest Harris County neighborhoods including, Dowdell PUD, Bridgestone MUD, Villages of Creekside, Meadowhill MUD, Glenloch Farms, Charterwood, and Northpoint,โ Said Constable Mark Herman.
All stolen properties have been returned to the rightful owners and Constable Investigators have rearrested all 3 suspects on new charges recently after they initially bonded out of jail.
Dain Fletcher was charged with Theft of Firearm and Burglary of Motor Vehicle with a total bond of $5,000.00 out of the 209th District Court and County Court 007.
Dominique Lockett was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with a bond of $1,000.00 out of County Court 004.
DeโAries Smith was charged with Theft of Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance with a total bond amount of $6,000.00 out of the 180th District Court.
Missing Baby Found After Car Is Stolen
On Jan. 1, 2018, deputies were called to the Shell gas station in the 21500 block of Aldine Westfield Drive for a stolen vehicle report.
But when deputies arrived, they learned that a baby had also been taken with the car.
The victim told deputies that sheโd left her 2007 Nissan Sentra running with her 7 months lold baby inside, while she ran into the store.
While she was inside, a man got into her car and drove off with her baby inside.

Deputies searched for the baby and found her on the side of the roadway near the intersection of Aldine Westfield and Beltway 8.
EMS responded to the location and the baby was returned to the mother in good condition.โThe stolen vehicle has not been recovered at this time and an extensive investigation continues by Precinct 4 until the suspect is identified and arrested,โ Herman said.

Wanted Murder Supects
Houston Police investigators re-released surveillance video and photos of two unidentified suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a 53-year old man outside of a home in the 6800 block of London Street on Oct. 16.
The surveillance video, released on Oct. 18 by the Houston Police Department showed four armed black men driving a dark blue Mazda, stopping at the end of London Street, and running toward a green Kia Sedona.
One of the men is seen in the video opening the the drivers side door, and shooting Sam Johnson, 53, and Walter Fields, 22, while a woman is seen jumping from the passenger season and shielding an 11-month old child who was still strapped in a car seat.

Neither the woman or the child were injured, police said.
In the days after the brutal murder, police arrested DeAndre Watson, 19 and Metroy Harris, 27, and charged both with Johnsonโs murder, while Harris also also been charged with felony deadly conduct in the 230th State District Court.
Two other suspects, described only as black males between 18 and 25 years old, are still on the run.
One of the males is heavyset and was wearing a gray hoodie. The other was wearing a red jacket.
