Houston Man Killed While Paying Toll On Beltway 8
Witnesses told police, the driver of a Dodge Durango was driving erratically before he smashed into the toll plaza, killing another driver.

HOUSTON, TX -- A three-car accident on Beltway 8 Thursday night claimed the life on a man as he waited in the cah line to pay his toll.
The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Beltway 8 and West Little York, when the driver of a Dodge Durango who was approaching the EZ tag lane, lost control, veered into the cash lane and hit the back of a Buick sedan that was waiting behind a Ford pickup that was pulling a trailer.
The force of the crash pushed the car into the back end of the trailer, killing the man instantly.(Sign up for Patch’s daily newsletter for your neighborhood.)

The driver of the pickup was badly shaken and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.

Witnesses said the driver of the Dodge Durango was driving erratically before the crash happened.
Investigators are working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal accident.
Charges have not yet been filed.
