Hurricane Harvey leaves 250,000 Texas residents without air conditioning and electricity. Here's how to report downed power lines.

HOUSTON, TX โ Thousands of Houstonians are without power as heavy rain and high winds continue to pound the area hours after Hurricane Harvey moved ashore at Rockport. CenterPoint Energy reported that about 60,000 Houston area customers were without power as of 7 a.m. Saturday, with Oncor Electric and Energy Texas reporting about 1,000 customers are without electricity.
Officials said if you see a downed power line, leave it alone, stay at least 10 feet away and call CenterPoint Energy right away. (Want to get daily updates about Hurricane Harvey and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)
