“The Mission LSC is a Christian club for students, dedicated to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to young adults and building an atmosphere of hope and love in our community,” said Joe Garza professor of radiologic technology at LSC-Montgomery and advisor of the Mission LSC. “Our students and this community want to see a difference in the world and this event helps connect them to challenges they might not have know exist today.”

Participants run through the darkness to take a stand against injustice, illiteracy and poverty.

The cost is $30 for individuals, $25 each for groups with four or more runners. There will be free snacks, drinks, t-shirts, glow gear and prizes for runners.

Proceeds raise money for underfunded orphanages in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. This year, funding will also be going toward the launching of a school program in the slums of India.

Don’t miss out on the chance to showcase your business to attendees by being a sponsor of the Illuminate 5K. Supporters will have their company information put on the back of the shirts printed for the event, as well as the option to set up a stand at the race.
