Man Convicted Of Killing Houston Teen In 2016 Shooting

MARINA DEL REY, CA — A California jury has convicted a 23-year old man of first degree murder for killing a Houston woman in January 2016.

Cameron Anthony Frazier was found guilty for the murder of 17-year old Kristine Carman after more than a day of jury deliberation on June 5.(Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)

Prosecutors said that on Jan. 6, 2016, the boyfriend of Kristine Carman’s sister had arranged a meeting with Frazier to sell two pounds of medical marijuana.

Frazier met the man in the parking lot of the Villa Marina Marketplace, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Lacey Carman, and her sister Kristine who was visiting from Houston.

During the meeting, Frazier provided a copy of a driver’s license to the man, who claimed the photo didn’t look like Frazier.

The two men confronted one another, and Frazier pulled out a gun and demanded the marijuana before firing one shot at the marijuana dealer, and another in the SUV, hitting Carman once in the face.

Kristine Carman died at the scene.

Frazier was arrested 12 days after the shooting at his home,

He is facing the possibility of life without the possibility of parole, and is due back in court for sentencing on July 26.
