Man Who Shot Friend Wearing A Bulletproof Vest Is Charged
Jason Allen Griffin, 39, was charged with manslaughter after he shot and killed Daniel Barber, who was wearing a bulletproof vest.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston Police have charged a man who shot another man to death during a party on Sunday morning.
Jason Allen Griffin, 39, is facing charges of felon in possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of body armor and manslaughter.
Police said that Griffin was at a party at 302 West 23rd Street with several others on Sunday morning when, the victim, identified as Daniel Barber, donned a bulletproof vest.

Investigators said Griffin allegedly took out a gun and shot Barber in the chest.

According to a KTRK report, Barber told Griffin to shoot him, and when the gun went off, Barber fell to the ground.
Witnesses said Griffin tried to help Barber, but Barber died at the scene.
Investigators said Griffin left, the party with another person, and was arrested at an area hospital after he allegedly became suicidal.
Griffin remains hositalized.
The shooting is under investigation.
