Robbery Suspect Killed in Shootout with Jewelry Store Employees
Schools and an area church are placed on lockdown as authorities search for three robbery suspects.

CONROE, TX -- An attempted robbery of a Conroe jewelry store left one of the suspects dead and three others on the run, after they exchanged gunfire with store employees. Monday afternoon.
Investigators with the Conroe Police Department said four men entered Jeff's Jewelry, located n the 4800 block of Texas 105 West, at around lunchtime and demanded jewelry purses and other items from store employees
During the course of the robbery, the men began shooting at store employees with at least three of those employees firing back.

The robbers fled the store, with three getting away and one killed on his way out the door, police said.
Reports of the robbery led to the lockdown of three schools in Conroe ISD including Peet Middle School, Giesinger Elementary and Cryar Intermediate schools.

The lock order was lifted for the Geisenger and Cryar campuses, but CISD administrators are evaluating the safety for Peet.
First United Methodist Church was also placed in lockdown, investigators said.
"There was a lot of gunfire," Conroe police Lt. Dorcy McGinnis told the Houston Chronicle.
Windows were broken out of the store, and police set up black walls around the crime screen.
A manhunt ensued for the three other men, however, police said they located the abandoned getaway vehicle near Tink Calfee Road between West Fork Boulevard and Longmire.
Agents with the DEA are assisting in the search for the three suspects.
