Subway Employee Killed While Protecting His Mother During Armed Robbery
An 18-year old man who stepped in front of robber pointing a gun at his mother is shot to death, robbers leave cash behind.

HOUSTON, TX -- Police are looking for two men who shot and killed an 18-year old man during an armed robbery of a Subway restaurant.
The shooting happened on Wednesday at about 9 p.m., in the 3900 block of Broadway Street near the Gulf Freeway.
According to police, the victim and his mother were working in the Subway restaurant together and getting ready to close, when two men came into the restaurant and demanded money.

One of the men pointed his gun at the victim’s mother, and the 18-year old man intervened and stepped in front of her, and was shot in the neck.

He died a short time later at an area hospital.
The two gunmen ran from the restaurant without taking any of the cash, and drove away in a gold or tan colored sedan and were seen headed south on Interstate 45.
Investigators said the two men were described as young black men wearing hoodies and dark pants. One is about 18-to-20 while the other is younger, possibly in his mid-to-late teens.
Police said the two suspects may be linked to another Subway restaurant robbery that happened after the shooting.
Police said the mother of the young man was the only witness, but they are also looking at video surveillance from the restaurant.
