Tax-Free Back To School Weekend In Texas

School is back on sooner than you think, and supplies will be tax exempt for a weekend. Check out the details.

HOUSTON, TX -- School supplies will be tax exempt from Aug. 11 to 13 as school comes back to session. The annual sales tax holiday provides tax-free status for items under $100.

Though, not all items are tax exempt that weekend: textbooks, software and computer are not exempt. Exempt items are things like clothing, notebooks, pens and pencils, backpacks and footwear.
