Texas Lawman Among Those Injured In Mass Shooting
Former Victoria Police Chief is slightly wounded by bullet fragment during mass shooting in Vegas

SEGUIN, TX — The Seguin Police Department’s Assistant Police Chief was among the hundreds of people who were injured late Sunday when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock began firing indiscriminately from a 32-story hotel window, killing nearly 60 people.
Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure, who has been with the Seguin Police Department since 2015, was slightly injured when a piece of one of the bullets Paddock fired into a crowd of 22,000 people attending the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival, hit him in the hand.
According to a KAVU report, Ure was staying in the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, and posted about his attendance at the festival hours before the shooting began. “I caught a piece of bullet shrapnel on my hand but minor,” Ure wrote on his Facebook page. “The shooter was 22 floors directly above our room. Rounds hitting the ground all around us. I am guessing 400-500 rounds. Maybe more. Sounded like a war zone.”
