Divers Find Body Of Missing Fisherman In Lake Houston

Man whose boat overturned on Lake Houston was not wearing a life jacket: Police

ATASCOCITA, TX — The body of a man who went missing while fishing with friends early Saturday, has been found, officials said.

The man, who has not been identified, was found by emergency crews who’d been searching for the missing man for much of the day Saturday.

Officials said the man, who was in his 50s, was fishing on Lake Houston with two of his friends at about 3 a.m. Saturday, when their boat capsized.

None of the men were wearing life jackets, KPRC reported.

Two of the men were able to swim to shore and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Officials with the Houston Police and Houston fire departments searched the area by boat for the missing man, and eventually called in divers.

Divers arrived at Lake Houston and began a search for the man, KTRK reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
