  2. A 17-year-old Porter High School student was arrested Wednesday and charged in the slaying of a 14-year-old Kingwood boy. The two were classmates at Porter. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said more charges and more suspects could be coming. (Humble-Kingwood Patch)
  3. Big Rivers Waterpark and Adventures is opening Oct. 2 with reduced ticket prices as part of its fall promotion, 'Aquatoberfest.' (Community Impact Newspaper)
  4. A Houston Fire Department ambulance was involved in a rollover crash on FM 1960 in Atascocita on Wednesday. A patient in the ambulance, an HFD paramedic and a driver of another vehicle were taken to a hospital. (Humble-Kingwood Patch)
  5. Harris County Commissioners approved a lower tax rate, but it could come at a cost as the Harris County Hospital District will receive less money than commissioners budgeted for. (Community Impact Newspaper)
