Texas man accused of possessing thousands of AI child sex abuse material (houstonchronicle.com) — A 29-year-old Humble resident has been charged in Harris County under a new Texas law targeting AI-generated child sexual abuse material, in what appears to be the county's first such case. Deputies say thousands of illegal images were found, along with a separate invasive recording allegation, and the man is currently free on bond with strict no-contact conditions involving minors. 
2. USDA Settles Packers and Stockyards Case with Cabritos Garza Corporation and Gerardo Garza (usda.gov) — A Humble-based livestock buyer and his company have agreed to a USDA settlement after paying more than 1,000 head of livestock weeks late, violating the Packers and Stockyards Act. The consent order requires them to stop late payments and includes a $12,000 civil penalty, underscoring federal scrutiny on how local livestock businesses handle seller payments.
3. Top Texas football prospects in 2027 and 2028 classes (usatoday.com) — Two Humble-area standouts, Kennedy Brown of Kingwood and Benny Easter Jr. of Summer Creek, have landed among Texas' top football prospects in the 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes. The statewide rankings spotlight these local lineman and receiver talents as they enter key high school seasons, drawing major college attention and putting Humble programs firmly on recruiters' maps.
4. 'Sexist' dress code sparks revolt at Houston-area middle school (lmtonline.com) — Students and families in Humble ISD are pushing back on the district's dress code after a Creekwood Middle School student's petition gathered more than 800 signatures, alleging girls are disproportionately targeted. District officials dispute claims that "hundreds" of girls were cited in one day, saying only a few dozen students had violations, but the petition is pressuring the school board to revisit how rules are enforced.
