  1. Jose Altuve smashed a three-run home run to help the Houston Astros over the Chicago White Sox in Game 4 of the ALDS and punch their ticket to the ALCS against the Boston Red Sox. (Houston Patch)
  2. Two Humble ISD students are in stable conditions after suffering injuries in an incident involving a knife at Timberview Middle School. (ABC13 Houston)
  3. A fire that started in the kitchen of Rosemont Assisted Living Center in Atascocita forced residents to temporarily evacuate from the facility. The Atascocita Fire Department extinguished the fire and gave the all clear for residents to re-enter. (Humble-Kingwood Patch)
  4. The 4th Annual Kingwood Oktoberfest is set for Saturday and will feature plenty of German beers as well as bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels and polka music. (Kingwood News)
  5. Oklahoma freshman Megan Wilson, a Kingwood High School graduate, was named the Big 12 Volleyball Rookie of the Week after leading the Sooners with 34 kills during a weekend split of two games against TCU. (Soonersports.com)
