Kingwood Restaurant Manager Refutes Bird Flipping Incident As Reason Behind Waitress Firing
Manager says there is great respect for law enforcement personnel at his restaurant

KINGWOOD, TX -- A Kingwood waitress who lost her job at a local Los Cucos Tex-Mex Restaurant after photos of her flipping the bird while standing in front of a Harris County Sheriff’s Department vehicle, was not fired for that particular incident, according to the restaurant general manager.
In a recent Houston Chronicle report, Los Cucos General Manager Barry Sharif said that Rachel Ali was terminated due to violations of the store's Facebook policy.
Sharif, said while Los Cucos is supportive of local law enforcement, that it was Ali’s use of vulgar language on a social media post addressing a classmate of tipping her with a counterfeit $10 bill that led to her firing, and not the viral photos of her alleged disdain for law enforcement.

It was initially reported that Ali was terminated from her position as a server at the restaurant after Facebook photos of her standing alongside a Harris County Sheriff’s Department vehicle while flipping the bird.
Ali said the post was shared before she was employed by the Tex-Mex eatery, said she meant no harm by the Facebook post, and that she’d also posted a photo of herself standing by the same vehicle giving the peace sign.
