Irving: Dart Orange Line Weekend Closures Run October-November

DART Orange Line riders will experience delays in Irving on weekends beginning Oct. 24 and running through Nov. 29.

DART Orange Line riders will experience delays in Irving on weekends beginning Oct. 24 and running through Nov. 29. The agency will close sections of the Orange Line between specific stations to allow construction work at the Hidden Ridge at Carpenter Ranch station, as well as regular maintenance work along the line. Passengers will take shuttle buses between the affected stations and are encouraged to allow extra time. The projected weekend closure schedule affects the following stations on the indicated dates, weather permitting:

  • Oct. 24-25: Irving Convention Center Station to DFW Airport Station
  • Nov. 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 28-29: Irving Convention Center Station to North Lake College Station

Regular weekday service is not affected, and no work will occur Oct. 31-Nov. 1.

About the Hidden Ridge Station

The new Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Hidden Ridge Station at Carpenter Ranch station will be located between the North Lake College and Irving Convention Center stations and provides access to the city's $1 billion project nearby. The Hidden Ridge project, a 110-acre mixed use development for Verizon Communications Inc. includes retail and restaurants, apartments, a hotel and additional office space.

The station will have 136 parking spots on the southwest side, six bus bays and five kiss-and-ride spaces. Upon completion in 2021, DART will have 65 stations along its light rail corridor, the longest light rail system in North America.
