  1. Learn the story of MacArthur Spanish teacher Bricelda Villatoro at Irving Weekly. Moving to the United States from El Salvador when she was in third grade, Villatoro appreciated knowing that some of her classes would be in Spanish. After completing her degree at the University of North Texas, Villatoro returned to the Irving ISD to support the next generation of dual language learners. (Irving Weekly)
  2. It's National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Irving ISD is celebrating! The district notes that 73 percent of its students identify as Hispanic. "We honor the rich culture and its people for their contributions to our city, school district and classrooms," the district states. (Irving Weekly)
