• DA Wilke moves to step aside from Camp Mystic investigation as Eastlands challenge warrants – The Kerr County Lead (kerrcountylead.com) — Kerr County readers should know that District Attorney Lucy Wilke is asking to step aside from the Texas Rangers’ criminal investigation into Camp Mystic, citing conflicts of interest and limited resources. At the same time, Kerrville attorney Clay Steadman has filed motions for Eastland family members to limit review of seized iCloud data tied to the 2025 flood that killed 119 people in the county, including 28 at the camp.
   

• KFD to host free local first-aid workshop Oct. 19 (hccommunityjournal.com) — Kerrville residents can sign up now for a free first-aid and bleeding-control workshop hosted by the Kerrville Fire Department on Oct. 19 at the Kerrville Public Safety Facility. Firefighters and EMS staff will teach hands-on skills like tourniquet use and basic first aid, with all ages welcome but space limited, making early registration important for local families and neighborhood leaders.
   

• Kerrville Tivy outlasts Davenport in wild 70-66 win to stay undefeated (expressnews.com) — Kerrville Tivy stayed undefeated with a 70-66 thriller over Davenport, powered by a huge night from running back Aiden Zavala and sophomore quarterback Cohen Stehling. The Antlers’ explosive offense, now 5-0, snapped Davenport’s long district winning streak and showcased what their coach calls the fighting spirit of Kerrville as they move toward a key matchup with Taylor.
