READY TO WORK: Kilgore cuts ribbon at new Public Works Facility (kilgorenewsherald.com) — Kilgore has opened its first new municipal building in more than 40 years, a modern Public Works facility on North State Highway 42 that supports the crews maintaining streets, water, and other infrastructure. City leaders say the upgraded space, with offices, showers, and training areas, is a long-term investment in both employees and the city’s future services. 
2. Kilgore pulls away from Jacksonville for 42-24 win (news-journal.com) — Kilgore fans saw the Bulldogs storm back at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium, outscoring Jacksonville 21-0 in the fourth quarter for a key district win. Strong second-half defense and big nights from running backs Rayshaun Williams and Maddox Wright helped Kilgore erase a halftime deficit and even its district record.
3. Kilgore man accused of attacking multiple people, burglarizing home (kltv.com) — A Kilgore resident has been jailed after Smith County deputies say he assaulted two people and broke into a home on FM 2767 in Kilgore. One woman was hospitalized with head and body injuries, another man reported being attacked with a BB gun, and the suspect now faces multiple felony charges that could bring a lengthy prison term if convicted.
4. Governor Abbott Announces Workforce Pell Approval, $10.4 Million Community College Grant (texas.gov) — Kilgore College students will soon be able to use new federal Workforce Pell aid for short-term programs like Electric Power Technology, Phlebotomy Technician, and Pharmacy Technician. The approval, part of a broader Texas initiative backed by a major federal grant, is designed to help residents quickly train for high-demand, better-paying jobs without committing to long degree programs.
