• Human Remains Found Near Site Where Man Was Last Seen by His Mom Before He Left to Go Hunting and Disappeared (newsbreak.com) — Human remains found in a wooded area off FM 82 may be connected to Kirbyville resident Joshua Larkin, who vanished after leaving his mother's Kirbyville home to go hunting in 2022. Newton County investigators recovered a human skull and other remains near the Exotic Cat Refuge and are sending them for DNA testing while the multi-year investigation and related evidence-tampering cases continue.
