ā¢ Brazoria County deputy involved in deadly shooting of driver in Lake Jackson (fox26houston.com) ā A Brazoria County sheriffās deputy shot a driver after a late-night traffic stop and brief chase that ended at a home on Indian Warrior Trail in Lake Jackson, and the driver later died at a hospital. The deputy is now on administrative leave while the Texas Rangers, the sheriffās office, and the district attorneyās office investigate, and officials have not yet released the driverās identity or the reason for the stop.

ā¢ Family identifies 18-year-old man shot by deputy in Lake Jackson (ktsm.com) ā Residents should know that an 18-year-old Lake Jackson man, John Gabriel Mendoza, was fatally shot by a Brazoria County sheriffās deputy after a traffic stop turned chase ending at his home near FM 2004 and This Way Street. Authorities say he fled the stop and was shot entering his garage; his family says he was unarmed, and the deputy is on leave during the investigation. Ā Ā Ā
