• Community comes together to support grieving family of Lindale ISD student (ketk.com) — Lindale neighbors and businesses just rallied to raise money for the family of 8-year-old Velma Penny Elementary student Adrian Thompson, who died after a medical emergency at school last week. Local sponsors dedicated a share of Tuesday’s sales to help her loved ones, underscoring how strongly the Lindale community shows up when one of its own is hurting.

• County acts in finding dementia patients (ktbb.com) — Families in Lindale and across Smith County can now work with local police and the Sheriff’s Office to equip loved ones with Project Lifesaver tracking bracelets, helping quickly find dementia patients who wander. The Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County says thousands in the county live with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and hopes more Lindale-area families will use this underutilized safety resource.
