Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:

1. Launched at the start of COVID-19, One Heart McKinney was created to provide financial support and resources for residents impacted by the pandemic, particularly those out of work who were unable to pay their bills or even put food on the table. The city program then stepped up again in February 2021 in the aftermath of the major winter storm that left many without power and water for days. Now, McKinney is preparing to expand their innovative program to help even more Collin County residents. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
2. Have questions about the state’s electric grid? Soon, you'll be able to pose these questions to state representatives and leadership of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) in a public setting. State Representatives Matt Shaheen and Jared Patterson will host Brad Jones, interim president and CEO of ERCOT, in a town hall on Dec. 1 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center in Frisco.
