• Find adrenaline-inducing rides and nostalgia at these 6 amusement parks in the South (nola.com) — North Texas surfers and thrill-seekers could soon stay closer to home with Cannon Beach, a 35-acre mixed-use surf and entertainment complex under construction in McKinney and aiming to open as early as 2027. Plans call for a three-acre surf lagoon, lazy river, mineral hot springs, resort hotel, and future additions like a skate park and movie theater. 
• Nearly $1 billion in contracts goes to major weapons suppliers for bomber and radar work (nj.com subscription) — Nearly $1 billion in new Pentagon contracts will send part of a major B-52 radar upgrade project to facilities in McKinney alongside sites in Mississippi, California, and Georgia. Raytheon leads the radar work, while Boeing and Northrop Grumman handle bomb racks and space-tracking radar, potentially supporting high-tech defense jobs for years.
