• Man dies after being struck by 18-wheeler in Cisco (gosanangelo.com) — A 52-year-old man from Mineral Wells died after an 18-wheeler struck him while he was lying in the north I-20 service road near Cisco early April 15, according to state troopers. Investigators say the truck driver couldn’t see him in time, and both the driver and passenger were uninjured in clear, dry conditions.

• Hardin-Simmons film student's passion for filmmaking makes impact in Abilene (ktxs.com) — A student filmmaker’s new short film, “Roses,” plans at least one shoot location in Mineral Wells, bringing a bit of independent film production to the area. The Hardin-Simmons University project, based in Abilene, will film this summer, highlight mental health themes, and involve a large student cast and crew, with community support welcomed through donations and sponsorships.
