• SMU researcher selected to lead $25 million project advancing critical minerals technology (gilmermirror.com) — A major federal research project on critical minerals will directly involve NOV's test center in Navasota, where advanced drilling and automation systems will be used to test new mining technologies. Led by SMU engineer Saeed Salehi with $19.3 million in DOE funding, the effort will repurpose oil-and-gas innovations for mineral extraction and train future engineers using AI tools and hands-on field work.
