• Weekend keeps first responders busy (wcmessenger.com) — Newark-area firefighters and Wise County EMS handled a string of weekend emergencies, including an RV fire near County Road 4657 and a serious house fire northeast of Decatur that sadly killed two dogs. Crews from Newark, Rhome, Boyd and other departments also responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 287 and an early Monday truck collision where, fortunately, no injuries were reported.
