4,000+ Pounds Of Food Recently Donated To Pflugerville Pantry

PFLUGERVILLE, TX - With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, the community has come together to help those less fortunate. Over the last five days, Circle of Hope Community Center in Pflugerville has received more than 4,000 pounds of food from churches, schools and organizations.

Recently, Pflugerville High School’s Healthcare Occupations Students of America Club donated 762 pounds of food to the center's food pantry.

"It is inspiring to see our local youth helping us serve families in need in our community," the center posted on its official Facebook page.

These students aren't the only only ones to make generous donations over the last several days.

On Nov. 20, Oasis Church in Round Rock purchased and delivered 470 pounds of Thanksgiving turkeys to the center's food pantry.

On Nov. 22, Price Waterhouse Coopers in Austin donated 2,789 pounds of food to the pantry.

Other organizations to make donations to the food pantry throughout the month of November include Girl Scouts Troop 2500, which donated 420 pounds of food to the center, and Rosendin Electric which donated 1,653 pounds of canned goods to the center.

"We are so thankful for each and every one of you," food pantry workers said via social media.

The Circle of Hope Community Center provides food, resources and hope to neighbors in need. Currently, the center's food pantry serves over 1,200 people each month from Pflugerville, Round Rock, Hutto, Austin, Georgetown, Taylor, Cedar Park and Leander.

The food pantry will be closed Nov. 25-29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The center will reopen again after Thanksgiving on Monday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m.
