5 People, Including 2 Children, Hurt In North Austin Wreck

Traffic accident along 12600 block of Tech Ridge Boulevard leaves 2 kids with potentially serious injuries, 2 woman, man hurt.

NORTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — Five people, two children among them, were hurt in a North Austin crash on Saturday afternoon, emergency officials said.

The traffic wreck occurred just before 2 p.m. along the 12600 block of Tech Ridge Boulevard near Interstate 35 and Parmer Lane. Via Twitter, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said one crash victim pinned to the vehicle had to be extricated from the car.

All told, five people were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. A woman in her 30s sustained potentially seriuos injuries while a woman in her 50s sustained injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Both woman were rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center, medics said.

A pair of children who sustained potentially serious injuries were transported to Dell Children's Medical Center, according to medics. The fifth patient, a man in his 30s, was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center with injuries not deemed life threatening.

Emergency officials did not indicate how many vehicles were involved in the incident or a potential cause for the wreck.
