Alleged Bank Robber's Getaway Short-Lived As Austin Police Find Him Across Street From Heist

A+ Federal Credit Union at 15108 FM 1825 was hit but eyewitness accounts led police to suspect inside a nearby store.

PFLUGEFRVILLE, TX — The getaway of an alleged bank robber on Sunday was short-lived after Austin police, based on eyewitness accounts, located the suspect inside a nearby store.

The robbery at an A+ Federal Credit Union at 15108 FM 1825 was reported at around 12:30 p.m., police said. A man in his 30s is said to have entered the thrift while demanding money, leaving on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

A police spokesman said at a subsequent press conference that witnesses provided a description of the suspect and alerted officers he had entered a store across the street from the credit union. That's where police found him and promptly placed him under arrest.
