Austin Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Friday identified the man arrested in a bank robbery that occurred earlier this week.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at around 12:40 p.m. inside the Chase Bank branch located at 13809 N. U.S. 183 when a man entered the bank, presented a note demanding money and then fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

A short time after police arrived, a man matching the suspect's description was detained. He has been identified as 33-year-old Eric Maurice Hegger. He subsequently was booked into the Williamson County jail on one count of robbery by threat — a second-degree felony. According to jail records, bond was set at $100,000.
