Austin-Bound Interactive Dodgeball Experience Alerts To Driver Impairment
The demonstration will set up at Speedway and 21st Street on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — The “Plan While You Can” interactive dodgeball experience will be on-site Wednesday to demonstrate how drinking can impair a driver’s reflexes.
In an effort to reduce crashes and save lives, the Texas Department of Transportation plans to show drivers how drinking can slow your reaction time through the interactive dodgeball game. The display is part of the agency’s “Plan While You Can” campaign to urge drivers to plan ahead for a sober ride home.
During the 2016 Labor Day holiday,* there were 344 crashes in Texas involving drivers under the influence of alcohol, TxDot officials noted. Those crashes led to 12 fatalities and 39 serious injuries, officials added.
