Austin Celebrates Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park Development

5-acre park contains loop trail, large picnic shelter, cooking grills, playground equipment, bike racks, benches and a basketball court.

AUSTIN, TX — A groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the development of Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park is scheduled this Saturday.

Officials from City Council District 4, Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), Austin Parks Foundation (APF) and the Georgian Acres Neighborhood Association will gather for a groundbreaking ceremony on Sept. 21 marking the occasion.

A 5-acre park in the Georgian Acres Neighborhood, the park’s development began in 2016 through a partnership between the city and community leaders. The park will help fill the area’s recreation gap by providing community members with a decomposed granite loop trail, a large picnic shelter with family-sized grills, playground equipment, bike racks, benches, and a basketball court.
