Austin Parks Officials Implement Alcohol Ban At Bull Creek District Park & Greenbelt
Effective Aug. 15, the ban was prompted by community concerns, increased litter and overall impact to the parkland, officials said.

AUSTIN, TX -- Beginning on Monday, consumption or possession of alcohol without a permit is not longer allowed at Bull Creek District Park & Greenbelt, officials said.
The decision to ban alcohol at the site is in response to community concerns, increased litter and impacts to the parkland area, officials said in a news advisory. Austin Parks and Recreation Director Sara Hensley based the new ban on City Code §8-3-2, according to the advisory.
The new Bull Creek District Park & Greenbelt alcohol permit will be enforced by the Austin Police Department including their Park Police Unit, officials said. Newly installed signs throughout the area are intended to remind visitors to the new ban.
