Austin PD Seeks Help Finding Home Invasion Suspect (Video)
Suspect broke open door to an apartment along the 700 block of West Longspur Boulevard on May 22 before fleeing the scene.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a recent home invasion robbery.
The incident occurred on May 22 at around 9:30 am. along the 700 block of West Longspur Boulevard. Police said the suspect kicked in the door of an apartment while the occupants were asleep in their bedrooms. One of the residents woke up to a man in her bedroom, police added. The suspect is said to have threatened the woman, demanded valuables and then fleeing the scene.
None of the occupants were injured in the incident, police added. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s standing at five feet, nine inches tall and weighing some 260 pounds with a stocky build.

Police released surveillance camera video in the hopes someone might recognize the suspect and alert him to his identity and whereabouts.
The suspect spoke both English and Spanish during the incident, police said. He was wearing a black hoodie with a beanie and had on light pants and white shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call the APD Robbery Unit at 512-974-5270 or text "Tip 103" and a message to CRIMES or use the new Crime Stoppers App. Those submitting tips can remain anonymous, police said. Tipsters also can submit information by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, free on iPhone and Android.
