Austin Police ID Woman Struck And Killed By Car In Trying To Cross Interstate 35

Sabrina Deann Baugh, 40, was hit along the 6800 block of North Interstate 35 as she tried to cross the highway, police said.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday revealed the name of a woman who died after being struck by a car last month while trying to cross a stretch of Interstate 35.

Sabrina Deann Baugh, 40, was hit by a car that was traveling southbound along the 6800 block of North I-35 in the inside lane of traffic on Nov. 4 just before 7 p.m., police said. Baugh was trying to cross the highway eastbound when she was struck, according to police.

The woman's death marked Austin’s 68th fatal traffic crash and the 70th fatality of 2016. In the comparable period last year, there were 91 traffic fatalities in Austin.
