Austin Police Seek Man Suspected In 2 North Austin Bank Heists
Based on a preliminary police investigation, the suspect has hit two International Bank of Commerce bank branches in recent days.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect believed to have been involved in two recent bank robberies.
The second incident occurred at the International Bank of Commerce bank branch at 10405 FM 2222 Rd. on Jan. 5 at around 12:30 p.m. The suspect is said to have displayed a weapon while demanding money before fleeing on foot toward Sitio Del Rio Boulevard with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.
Police believe the suspect is the same man who committed a Dec. 22 robbery at another IBC bank branch. The police department previously released information on the suspect, but now believe it's the same man from the earlier bank robbery (See: Austin Police Seek Bank Robber, Jan. 6).

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 45 to 55 standing at six feet in height with a gray beard and stock build. He was last seen wearing black clothing, a black beanie and was carrying a black, messenger-style bag.

Police released still images from a bank surveillance camera in the hopes someone might recognize the suspect and alert police as to his whereabouts:


This is the second bank robbery to have occurred in North Austin in recent days. Police also are seeking the public's help in locating another suspect wanted in connection to a bank robbery at the Comerica Bank branch along the 1700 block of West 35th St. The suspect in that case entered the bank on Jan. 4 around 4 p.m. before displaying a weapon while demanding money.
The suspect in the earlier case fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, and no injuries were reported. The Austin Police Department is working in tandem with the FBI Central Texas Robbery Task Force in solving the crime, officials said.
The suspect is a white man standing about five feet, eight inches tall with a white beard. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black beanie and faded jeans. Police released still images from a bank surveillance camera in the hopes someone might recognize him and alert police as to his whereabouts.
