Austin Police Seek Tips On Bank Robbery

Description of suspect released in the hopes of locating man who held up a Bank of America branch last week.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department seeks help from the public in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred last week.

Police issued a press advisory on Tuesday alerting to the bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, June 20, just before noon at a Bank of America branch on 701 E. Stassney Lane.

That's where the suspect entered the lobby before displaying a weapon, demanded money from a teller and fleeing the scene on foot, police said. Local police are working with the FBI Central Texas Robbery Task Force in the ensuing investigation, according to a press advisory.

The suspect is described as a black male standing at six feet in height of medium build and weighing about 215 pounds. He has short black hair, and is estimated to be 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, jeans, khaki bucket hat and wearing a black backpack.
