Austin Schedules Kickoff To 'National Night Out' This Saturday

Free event on Saturday, Sept. 30, intended to show unity against crime will feature games, entertainment and music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

AUSTIN, TX — The City of Austin has scheduled its 34th Annual National Night Out kickoff celebration this coming Saturday ahead of the actual event.

The free event ahead of National Night Out on Oct. 3 allows residents to gather en masse and in unity against crime. On the night of the event this Saturday, Sept. 30, neighbors gather together and partake in various activities designed to promote safety awareness.

At Saturday's kickoff, there will be games, entertainment and music. Food will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Austin Police Community Liaison Corp., a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Saturday's kickoff is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Reagan High School, 7104 Berkman Dr. Neighborhood gatherings for National Night Out are scheduled Oct. 3 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., joining thousands of communities nationwide taking a stand against crime.
